Thursday, November 7, 2019 Dear Parents, I have sent homework for next week in today's folder. Spelling tests will now be given on Fridays. If a student is not satisfied with his or her score on the spelling test, he or she is welcome to retake it at home and turn in the new score. We want the students to be successful with the words and use the newly learned spelling patterns in their writing and use the rules to help them decode new words in reading. Thank you to the PTSA for supporting our Junior Great Books program here at Denali Montessori! The teachers have been working with Junior Great Books trainer extraordinaire, Kriko, this week learning how best to teach the program. It has been a great learning experience for me and I appreciate the PTSA's support! We have "retired" Montessori teacher, Ms. Mardena, to thank for being here this week during my training. She has been teaching the students about various artists and doing incredible art projects with the students this week! Thank you, Ms. Mardena,! It's been a very productive week in Room 177. The students have been busy reading, writing letters, learning about measurement of volume, working on math facts and operations, contractions, vocabulary, problem solving, geometry, spelling, penmanship, telling time, money, fractions and more.
