Friday, February 22, 2019 Dear Parents, I’m sure you have noticed that our Thursday folder has turned into a Friday folder. Please expect homework, schoolwork and newsletters to come home on Fridays from now on. All homework will still be due the following Friday. Thank you. This week the students have been studying conjunctions and interjections in grammar, apostrophes for possessives, geometry, practicing math facts, reading, writing friendly letters, journaling, studying positions of lines and angles in geometry, reading comprehension and activities, learning about air pressure, informational and study skills, vocabulary, penmanship, country research, the history of geometry and how the “rope stretchers” in Egypt gave it its name and more! It has been a wonderful week of more quiet concentration than we have had all year. I am very proud of your children. We are currently collecting spare change for Malawi Children’s Village. The money will be presented at our Peace Concert on February 28 from 6:30-8:00. There will also be a chance for families to donate and bid on desserts at the Peace Concert Dessert Auction. It has been wonderful to see the spirit of generosity from your children as they bring in their money and how they are excited to help the children of Malawi.
